Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Akrasia ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Akrasia is an AI-powered style and writing direction engine that enables users to guide and adapt text according to specialized cognitive tones and personas. The Service operates on a pay-as-you-go credit system. Each writing direction or style transformation operation consumes one (1) credit.

3. Account Registration

  • You must sign in using a valid Google account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.
  • You must not share your account or allow unauthorized access.
  • You must be at least 13 years old to use this Service.
  • One account per person. Creating multiple accounts to exploit credits is a violation of these Terms.

4. Credits & Payment

  • Credits are purchased through our Merchant of Record partner, Polar.sh. Polar handles all billing, payment processing, invoicing, and local tax compliance.
  • Credits are non-refundable once purchased, except where required by applicable law.
  • Credits are consumed only upon successful text generation. Failed API calls do not consume credits.
  • Credits do not expire.
  • We reserve the right to change credit pricing at any time. Existing purchased credits will not be affected.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Generate content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or infringing.
  • Submit malicious payloads, scripts, or injection attacks.
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits, authentication, or credit systems.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or scrape the Service or its AI outputs.
  • Use automated bots, scrapers, or tools to interact with the Service without authorization.
  • Resell, redistribute, or sublicense credits or AI-generated output as a competing service.
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations.

6. Intellectual Property

  • Your Content: You retain full ownership of the text you submit and the AI-generated output you receive.
  • Our Platform: The Akrasia platform, its code, UI design, branding, and proprietary AI prompt engineering are the intellectual property of Akrasia and are protected by copyright and trademark laws.
  • You may not copy, reproduce, or create derivative works of the platform itself.

7. AI Disclaimer

AI-generated content is provided "as-is" and may contain errors, inaccuracies, or biases. You are solely responsible for reviewing and validating all AI output before use. Akrasia is not liable for any consequences arising from the use of AI-generated content, including but not limited to:

  • Academic or professional misconduct.
  • Legal liability from content that violates third-party rights.
  • Factual inaccuracies in generated text.

8. Service Availability

We strive for 99.9% uptime, but the Service is provided "as available." We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time with reasonable notice.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Akrasia and its owners, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Account Suspension, Termination & Deletion

We reserve the right to immediately suspend, block, or terminate your account and access to the Service at any time, without prior notice or liability, if we determine in our sole discretion that you have violated these Terms. This includes, but is not limited to, platform abuse, rate-limit circumvention, reverse engineering, script/bot automation, exploitation of the credit system, or submitting abusive/offensive content.

Upon account suspension or blocking:

  • Your access to the web interface, dashboards, and APIs will be revoked immediately.
  • Any remaining unused credits in your account will be immediately forfeited and are strictly non-refundable.
  • You are strictly prohibited from registering new accounts to evade this suspension. Attempting to do so will result in immediate bans of the new accounts.

Voluntary Account Deletion: If you wish to voluntarily terminate and delete your account, you must submit a deletion request to our support team at support@akrasia.pro or via our support request portal. Upon validation of the request, all personal data, account configurations, and database records will be permanently and completely purged from our active databases within thirty (30) days.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Akrasia from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Pakistan, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Karachi, Pakistan.

13. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or prominent notice on the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
