Cancellation & Refund Policy

1. Refund Eligibility

At Akrasia, we want you to be fully satisfied with our Service. Since we operate on a pay-as-you-go credit system, our refund eligibility rules are structured as follows:

  • Unused Credits: You may request a full refund for any credit package within 14 days of purchase, provided that no credits from that package have been used.
  • Used Credits: Once any portion of a credit package has been consumed or used for paraphrasing/text extraction, the entire package becomes non-refundable. We do not offer partial refunds for partially used credit packages.
  • Refund Method: All eligible refunds will be processed back to the original payment method (via Polar) used to make the purchase. It may take 5 to 10 business days for the refund to reflect on your account.

2. Account Cancellation

You have the right to cancel your account at any time. To cancel your account, please contact us at akrasia.ai@proton.me. Upon cancellation:

  • Your access to the Service will be terminated immediately.
  • Any remaining unused credits in your account balance will be forfeited and are non-refundable.
  • All personal data associated with your account will be processed for deletion in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

3. Service Outages and Errors

We strive to ensure continuous availability of our services. In the rare event that a transaction fails or credits are deducted without generating the expected output due to a system error, we will investigate and restore the deducted credits to your balance. Please report such issues to akrasia.ai@proton.me with your transaction details.

4. Abuse of Refund Policy

We reserve the right to deny refund requests if we detect patterns of abuse, duplicate accounts, or fraudulent activities aimed at exploiting the credit system. Decisions made by Akrasia regarding refund abuse are final.

5. Refunds for Suspended or Blocked Accounts

If your account is suspended or blocked due to a violation of our Terms of Service (including but not limited to platform abuse, API bypass, scraping, credit exploitation, or sending offensive inputs), any remaining unused credit balance on your account is immediately forfeited. Suspended or blocked accounts are strictly ineligible for refunds of any purchases made, regardless of when they were purchased or how many credits remain.
